Ricardo Lopez, Mexican national, graduated with a Bachelor Law Degree, he worked for several years at the District Attorney office in Tijuana, he then worked on private practice, but he left all of it to move to the U.S to learn and practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with the idea on mind to go back and open an academy and teach in his home town. He has been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2006 for over 16 years now and is a first degree black belt under Clark Gracie. Ricardo is the head instructor of Clark Gracie Jiu Jitsu Mexico the affiliated academy in Tijuana since there opening in July 2009 , where he teaches and trains several champions of well known tournaments like the Pan-Ams, Worlds and Abu-Dhabi Trials. He is also the president and co-founder of the Baja California State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association, he has worked to progress the art of BJJ in his own country where he has organized and made possible several tournaments since 2011, helping the sport grow in the state and the region.

Ricardo competition includes and is not limited to a gold medal in Las Vegas Open 2014, Silver medal in Grappling Experience 2013, Bronze in American Nationals 2014 and also third place at Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Open 2006.
